FINANCIAL AID

  • Fundraising – Create an online fundraising page to share with family and friends—click here to get started. We encourage you to begin early to allow plenty of time for donations. Occasionally, Barton alumni and friends visit the fundraiser page and may choose to contribute. 
  • Financial Aid Application* – Camperships are awarded on a first-come, first-served, sliding-scale basis, in the order in which completed applications are received. DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID IS WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF CAMP REGISTRATION. YOUR APPLICATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A COPY OF YOUR 2025 FEDERAL TAX RETURN. IF YOU HAVE NOT COMPLETED YOUR TAXES, PLEASE SEND 2024 FEDERAL TAX RETURN AND 2025 W-2 FORMS. IF TAX RETURN IS NOT RECEIVED, CAMPER REGISTRATION IS CANCELED. You will be notified of eligibility for financial assistance by mail. The maximum campership campers may receive is $3,500. 
  • Agency/Organization Agreement – If another agency or organization is sponsoring a portion of your camp fee, please complete this form. Many organizations—such as local Lions Clubs—may contribute toward a camper’s fees, and this form provides the information needed for that support.
  • First- Time Camper Scholarship*– scholarships are available for first-time campers with type 1 diabetes to cover a one (1) week overnight session at either Camp Joslin or Clara Barton Camps ONLY. (Does not apply to Vermont or day camps.) Must pay the $50 Registration fee.

*Please note: If you plan to use financial aid or the first-time camper scholarship, be sure to select “Yes” when asked if you are requesting financial aid during registration.

WACkY Campers

Campers are welcome to bring one sibling or friend without diabetes, known as WACkY Campers, to join them at any overnight, day camp session, or weekend session.

Overnight Camp: WACkY Campers pay a discounted camp rate.
Two Week Sessions:  $1750 + $50 registration fee
One Week Sessions:  $875 + $50 registration fee 

Vermont Overnight Camp:
One Week: Monday-Saturday: $700 + $50 registration fee

Day Camp: WACkY Campers pay a discounted camp rate.
Worcester, Danvers & Long Island: $350 + $50 registration Fee
Rainbow Club: $650 + $50 Registration fee. 

Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Financial aid and First-Time Camper scholarships are not available for WACkY Campers.

 

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations MUST BE MADE IN WRITING OR EMAILED (info@bartoncenter.org) AT LEAST 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE SESSION OPENING. Registration fees are nonrefundable, nor can they be applied to other programs. Camp fees will NOT be refunded for cancellations made within 30 days of the session opening unless a documented emergency has occurred. Campership recipients are not eligible for financial assistance in subsequent years if the cancellation policy is not followed—THIS INCLUDES CAMPERS WHO DO NOT SHOW UP AT A SESSION. In the event a camper chooses to leave early for any reason or is asked to leave for inappropriate behavior, no refund is allowed. YOUR ADVANCE NOTICE OF ANY CANCELLATION ALLOWS US TO FILL YOUR VALUABLE SPACE WITH A CAMPER FROM OUR WAITING LIST.
