“Someday, when I am a counselor I will share everything I learn with campers and help them the same way so many people have helped me.”
The Counselor Training Program provides Counselors-In-Training with a summer filled with new learning and understanding for each other and diabetes management. Many Camp Joslin and Clara Barton Camp staff members describe their time at this program as “the best summer” of their lives.
Those accepted into the CIT program will learn counseling skills as they relate to both the residential camps and the community. The program provides the skills needed to be great counselors!
Upon completing the CIT program, teens may apply for a paid Junior Counselor position the following summer. This role serves as a continuation of the CIT experience, with Junior Counselors still focused on developing their skills and learning on the job.
